LES ACCIDENTS DE POIDS LOURDS: ANALYSE DES DOSSIERS DE L'EDA
The study reported has been conducted on the basis of a limited number of accidents involving heavy vehicles, drawn from a selection made at Salon-de-Provence, France. The sample studied is not intended to represent the national situation. The method employed is based on a sequential subdivision of the accident, where each situation (driving, accident and emergency) is described highlighting specific features related to heavy vehicles. The collation of data is arranged according to the parameters driver, vehicle, and infrastructure/environment. Each accident scenario described constitutes a type of problem specific to heavy vehicles. The paper was originally published in French in Recherche -Transports -Securite, 1987-06 No. 14, pp 31-39.
