INTERIOR NOISE SCATTER IN FOUR-CYLINDER SEDANS AND WAGONS
Interior noise level scatter in vehicles with four-cylinder engines can be as high as 10 db (total) or 15 db for the second-order component. Samples of sedans and wagons were evaluated for scatter, and the scatter assessed in terms of structural-acoustic transfer functions. Scatter envelopes for the two body types, which share the same front structure, are virtually interchangeable. (Author/TRRL)
