PARKING FOR CITY CENTRES
Investigations into the character and nature of South African parking problems indicate that the roots lie in commuting. A proposed solution is based on the evaluation of two basic and interdependent factors: the parking conditions, and the resultant use made of parking facilities. The technique offers the possibility of simulating the parking redistribution which would occur under simulated changes in parking conditions. The simulated changes which produce the desired parking redistribution would then indicate the aims to be pursued in city parking policy. (TRRL)
