The article reviews the existing legal regulations in Yugoslavia concerning level crossings. It highlights the problems of traffic safety at level crossings, the obligations of road users when crossing, construction method of level crossings, criteria for establishing the location of level crossings, signalization, the authorities responsible for construction and maintenance costs of level crossings and their obligations. It also gives recommendations for the improvement of traffic safety at level crossings. (TRRL)
