CAN TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT REDUCE TRAFFIC IN THE SUBURBS? ASK THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION
The case of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's use of a Transportation Management Plan in preparing its move to Montgomery County, Maryland, an area already suffering from traffic congestion, in order to consolidate its eight offices into one is presented. When employers, developers, and local government work together in planning for major moves which can increase the level of traffic in a heavily congested area, viable solutions can result which satisfy everyone concerned.
