EVALUATION METHODOLOGIES FOR TRANSPORT INVESTMENTS
Discusses and analyzes current and potential approaches to transport project appraisal, with the specific aim of assessing improvements which can overcome the existing deficiences in practice. Case study (highway evaluation) material from the Midlands (UK) has been used. The results are applicable worldwide in developing and developed countries. It is concluded that a variety of multi-criteria appraisal techniques are available which can be adapted to the transport context, with obvious and substantial practical advantages.
