SWEPT PATHS OF HEAVY VEHICLES
BESCHREVEN BANEN VAN GROTE VOERTULGEN
Problems of swept paths of heavy vehicles are determined. The following two points are discussed: (1) Methods which are available for the estimation of the magnitude of the bends made by heavy vehicles when turning; and (2) when is an exact description of the magnitude of the paths needed. Increasingly, measures are being taken to narrow a road or to modify the layout to limit the speed of cars. Modifications are being made to the specifications for 30 KM/H areas and also for roads of a higher rank. As a result of such countermeasures driving of heavy vehicles or emergency cars has become more difficult because when a curve is designed computer applications hsve been very little used for the layout of the road in relation to the space needed by heavy vehicles. The degree of curvature is a further factor. Much attention is paid in the paper to the use of the microcomputer. Different computer models are presented.
