UNIFIED METHODS OF ACCELERATED LABORATORY TESTS OF THE PREPARATIONS FOR TEMPORARY PROTECTION OF CARS
The effectivenes of the anticorrosion protection of cars depends to a large degree on the quality of the preliminary protection preparations (SOC) applied for this purpose. In the period 1979 to 1985, the Institute of Precision Mechanics, within the cooperative CMEA framework, initiated and elaborated the project, unified methods of accelerated laboratory tests of SOC used for cars. The outcome is a collection of basic requirements pertaining to anticorrosion properties and technological features of SOC intended for protection of enclosed components of the car body and of the underside of the chassis. Particular requirements are based on methods described in CMEA standards and RS (Recommended Standard), and also in other standardization documents (ISO, FIAT standards, etc.). CMEA experts, participating in these studies, consider these standards to be optimal for the evaluation of specific properties.
