This report presents the initial findings of Durham Public Transport Unit on the effects of bus service deregulation starting with the preparation of a computer package to deal with many of the new procedures as efficiently as possible. Details are given of: preparation for deregulation, changes during the freeze up to 25 January, 1987, registrations after 26 January, 1987, operator withdrawals, in the world of deregulation, concessionary travel passes, and monitoring forms of competition.
