THE VTI TRAFFIC SIMULATION MODEL, DESCRIPTION AND SOME APPLICATIONS. NEW ZEALAND ROADING SYMPOSIUM 1987. VOLUME 3
For a number of years Swedish Road and Traffic Research Institute (VTI) has been developing a traffic model which uses simulation technique to describe the traffic process on a two lane rural road. This work has been carried out on commission from the National Road Administration. A comprehensive programme system has been built up in conjunction with the simulation model in order to achieve complete computerised handling of the model with its input and output data. This paper is intended to provide a basic description of the Institute's traffic simulation model and its associated programme system. But to start with there are some applications of the model from the road planning process. For the covering abstract of the symposium see IRRD 810782. (Author/TRRL)
