Highway maintenance administration and activities are summarised. Brief details are given of the organisation of the Tokyo National Highway Construction Office (including budget and contract figures). Activities outlined include: traffic engineering, maintenance and repair of roadways and structures, utility ducts under the road, and maintenance patrols and surveillance.
