SOME RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN FLEET AND FUEL MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS UTILISING AUTOMATIC DATA ACQUISITION TECHNIQUES. DEVELOPMENTS IN CONSTRUCTION, FORESTRY AND MINING EQUIPMENT, SAE ENGINEERING CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS, NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE, MELBOURNE, OCTOBER 21-22, 1986

This paper describes the results of an ongoing program being undertaken by Transponder Australia Pty Ltd in conjunction with South Australia State Transport Authority. The paper describes the development of a new electronic labelling technology which can be applied in a variety of applications such as fuel management systems, computerised berthing and despatch, traffic priority systems, fully automatic weighbridge possibilities and materials management techniques via pallet and container control. The electronic labelling technology is one that it is believed will have significant impact during the next and continuing decades not only in the applications fields of transport, construction, mining and forestry but many other fields such as car parking, security systems, animal monitoring and other applications.
