THE ROLE OF STATED PREFERENCE METHODS IN STUDIES OF TRAVEL CHOICE
Clarifies the relationship between theory and method used to justify the stated preference approach and that used to support the approach commonly adopted by economists. The communality of both approaches can lead to a very powerful empirical procedure which has yet to be implemented.
