AT THE 76TH CONGRESS: TRAFFIC AND OTHER ISSUES TAKE ON A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

This is a brief overview of the National Safety Council's Annual Congress and Exposition held in Florida in 1988. The Congress, whose theme was, "The Future is Now," emphasized the need for working for shared concerns. The Safety Council's mission stretched beyond national boundaries, and its activiites to meet its 1990 goal of 50% health and 50% safety are described. The establishment of the Council's Environmental Health Center was discussed. The role of the Center is to start a program that will encourage public involvement. Major issues addressed at the Congress are briefly noted.
