ANALYSIS OF UNDRAINED SOIL DEFORMATION DUE TO GROUND LOSS
The paper discussed here was published in volume 37, issue no 3 of this journal (1987). The discusser, B. Schmidt, expresses concern over the predicted width of the settlement trough; it appears to extend laterally much further than is usually observed. The author replies to the discusser's comments.
