GAS PROJECTS IN U.S., CANADA SPARK WORLD PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

The latest survey by Oil & Gas Journal shows that pipeline companies plan 19.7% more miles of crude oil, gas, and petroleum products pipeline in the non-Communist world this year than last. Data show that 9,314 miles are expected to be laid in the non-Communist world this year at an estimated cost of $6.2 billion. For 1989 and beyond, 34,725 miles are planned for the non-Communist world at an estimated cost of $23 billion. This article provides a breakout of Oil & Gas Journal cost projections, data on miles expected to be constructed by country and by pipe diameter for 1989, and the same data for 1989 and beyond.
