DEVELOPMENT OF ROADSIDE SAFETY HARDWARE IN SWEDEN

This paper describes some of the projects undertaken by the Swedish Road and Traffic Research Institute since 1975 when the capability was gained to perform full scale crash tests at speeds up to 130 kmph. The projects involved testing roadside safety hardware, including luminaire supports, guardrails, and crash cushions.
