TIMBER TIE DECAY: SEEKING A REMEDY
Details of the new biodegradable pad which slowly releases a chemical preservative into wood ties in order to prevent decay and prolong the useful life of the wood ties is presented. The pad called, Adz-Pad, is currently being installed on Burlington Northern rails, but will soon be installed by other railroads to test its effectiveness.
