SCHEDULING AND CONTROL PROCESSES OF DEPARTMENTS OF TRANSPORTATION
Presented here are the findings of a study of the scheduling and control processes of departments of transportation/highways in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The schedulilng requirements, the progress schedule review process, and the monitoring and the control of construction are covered. It is noted that the basic features of the processes of the agencies are similar, and that the size, type and complexity of a project determine the requirements and procedures that are specified. A bar chart or a modification of it is the principal scheduling instrument. Other conclusions drawn from the study are listed.
