ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AND PREVENTION. LOW COST WAYS TO SAVE LIVES
Accident investigation and prevention (aip) is a systematic procedure for identifying sites where high accident rates occur, and establishing and implementing appropriate low cost remedial measures. Examples include the provision of signs and road markings, the replacement of priority junctions with signalled layouts, the installation of lighting, and improvements to road surfaces for increased skid resistance. This leaflet looks at accident problem spots typically found in local areas and some of the low cost measures for tackling them. (TRRL)
