METEOROLOGICAL SUPPORT AND EVALUATION FOR HAZARDOUS CARGO EMERGENCIES
Describes the necessity for a meteorologist to evaluate the potential hazard in emergency situations where cargoes of toxic gases are involved. On-site observations of upper winds and atmospheric stability conditions, weather forecast information, and mathematical estimates of gas concentrations can be used for the delineation of possible hazard areas.
