AGE-SPECIFIC ALCOHOL PROHIBITION AND COLLEGE STUDENTS' DRINKING PROBLEMS
Of 4,266 students at 72 USA colleges in 1984-1985, characteristics of subsamples of students from states that had a minimum drinking age of 21 yr. (N = 1,328) and from those that had a minimum age below 21 yr. (N = 1,292) were analyzed. The results suggest few differences in drinking problems between students from the two categories of states; however, these few differences favor states with higher drinking ages.
