UNIVERSITY TRANSPORTATION CENTERS PROJECT ABSTRACTS. PROJECTS STARTED IN FY 1989

The University Transportation Centers Program (UTCP) was authorized by the Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987 (P.L. 100-17). Its purpose is to establish and operate transportation centers in each of the 10 standard Federal regions to conduct multi-modal research and training concerning the transportation of people and goods. On August 12, 1988, an announcement was made of the selection of 10 university transportation centers to receive research grants. This publication contains a list of the UTCP grant regional representatives, a list of the universities associated with the UTCP (the lead university for each region is identified), a list of the UTCP research projects, UTCP project abstracts, and UTCP center summaries.
