METROPOLITAN VANCOUVER ORIGIN-DESTINATION SURVEY: INSIGHTS FOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNING. 1986 ANNUAL CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS VOLUME 2
Effective planning and funding decisions for urban transportation systems require reliable data on where people are coming from, where they are going, how they are getting there and when they travel. Recognizing the need for an improved urban travel data base, B.C. Transit and the greater Vancouver regional district (gvrd) in conjunction with Transport Canada cooperated in the organization and funding of a comprehensive origin-destination survey in the Vancouver region. The survey included telephone interviews, detailed questionnaires and vehicle counts. Data analysis is currently underway and initial results will be available in early spring with the final report completed by the end of 1977. (Author/TRRL)
