AN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION OF HIGHWAY NETWORKS. A METHODOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

The study presents the design and application of a methodological technique for evaluating the environmental health impacts of alternative freeway transportation network plans on susceptible, high risk population groups. Using comparative analysis, the evaluation estimates and summarizes net pollution effects, including both negative and positive highway impacts, and suggests areas of planning concern to which the suggested methods might be applied.
