ACTIVE VISION SENSOR TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS - FINAL REPORT
This report is a review of the state-of-the-art in active vision sensor technology, including sonar, microwave radar, lasers and digital image processing. The principles behind each technology are briefly discussed, and potential applications evaluated. Two applications appear promising for use in automated guideway transport systems: 1) object identification on the guideway, and 2) guidance and control of stationary or moveable robots for inspection and cleaning.
