EVALUATION OF NEW JET/AIR 300 TORCH FOR CRACK SEALING OPERATIONS
Alberta transportation has laid test sections to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning and drying cracks in pavements by jet/air 300 torch prior to crack sealing operations. Four different types of crack sealants (hydrotech 6165, tremco thc-200, c-190 and cariphalte elt) have been applied to the cracks. Control sections have been laid in which the cracks were not cleaned and dried prior to sealing. The test sections will be monitored three times a year for a period of about three years or until failure occurs. (TRRL)
