VEHICLE WEIGHTS AND DIMENSIONS STUDY - INAUGURAL WORKSHOP APRIL 26/27, 1984 - OTTAWA
This report documents the agenda and proceedings of the inaugural workshop. In general, vehicle weights and dimensions study focuses on two areas of concern: handling and behavioural characteristics and how well they fit into the traffic stream, and secondly, the potential damaging effects a particular vehicle or weight limit will have on highways and bridges. Presentations at the workshop which are documented include: research program overview; computer simulation (gillespie,t); full scale vehicle testing (billing,j); Australian road train specifications and control (parnell,j); pavement test program (christison,t); suspension response studies (woodrooffe,j).
