In the context of a study on possibilities of accelerating public transport (trams, buses), there was an analysis of stopping times at official stops. The program of measurements developed for this purpose was directed towards the different influences of the different types of vehicles, types of stops and despatch systems on the times for passengers to alight and board and on the times spent at official stops. Apart from counting the passengers lighting & boarding per door, alighting and boarding times are also measured separately from the doors. The evaluation of the investigation was done differentiated according to times of measurement times of day, types of stops and types of vehicles. By comparing the various measured times, factors influencing the growth in passengers are analyzed. Specific boarding times determined (depending on the type of top, the operation and traffic) were between 2.4 and 3.3 secs/person; including taking cash and persons asking for information it was up to 5.9 secs/person.
