ANALYSES OF PANEL DATA. PPOCEEDINGS OF THE ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE ON THE LONGITUDINAL TRAVEL STUDY HELD AT THE HAGUE, MAY 14-15, 1987

The purpose of the round table conference on the longitudinal travel study was to answer the question whether a panel survey from 1984 had fulfilled expectations, both as regards data (improvement on other types of data) and results (achieving the objectives). Section 2 gives an outline of the policy questions for which it was thought that a panel survey would provide relevant data. Section 3 looks at a number of practical research problems and their implication for answering the initial questions posed. Sections 4 to 6 give a description of the questions the panel survey sets out to answer on: 1) identification of travel patterns; 2) factors influencing travel behavior; 3) other subjects to be researched. Section 7 gives the main points for consideration at the round table conference.
