PRACTICAL TEST OF A MOBILE TEST STAND IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER TEST METHODS
PRAKTISCHE ERPROBUNG EINES MOBILEN ZWEIRADPRUEFSTANDES IM VERGLEICH MIT ANDEREN KONTROLLMETHODEN
Within the frame of the research work, different method for speed- and noise control of speed limited mopeds and motorcycles would be tested and examined in relation to accuracy and practicability for police-controls. Concerning this, measurements of maximum speed and noise as well as visual inspections were conducted on 43 vehicles of this kind, having a speed limit of 25 Kph up to 80 Kph. The following test methods were tested and compared: maximum speed test on the road and on the mobile test stand, noise measurement on the road and on the mobile test stand, stationary noise in 7 m distance behind the end of the silencer, nearfield noise and locating of manipulations by visual inspections and disassembly of vehicle and motor. The mobile test stand showed to be the best of the examined test methods for police controls because it allows an immediate and probative measurement of the maximum speed and drive by noise. The other methods proved to be also practicable.
