HYPERSONIC TEST FACILITIES

MOYENS D'ESSAIS EN HYPERSONIQUE

A comprehensive study of the test facilities used in hypersonic aerodynamics: flight models; firing tunnels; wind tunnels. The specific ranges of these various facilities are indicated in relation to the similarity problems encountered in hypersonic aerodynamics. The technological limitations of each type of facility are translated in terms of performance characteristics (velocity, density, flow temperature and duration) and the associated measurement capabilities are indicated.
