ROAD TRAFFIC COUNTING 1985 IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY. METHODS OF COUNTING AND PROJECTION
STRASSENVERKEHRSZAEHLUNG 1985 IN DER BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND. ERHEBUNGS- UND HOCHRECHNUNGSMETHODIK
The survey of load traffic in 1985 was carried out in the form of "counting for short periods" on selected days over the whole truck road system. A complete survey with selection of the counting times for "free sections" took place for trund roads. Passing through inhabited areas was also included in counting. Apart from the total traffic, foreign traffic was counted separately on motorways, on border crossings and on part of the other roads. The enquiry process, the methods of calculation and the form of publication of the results are described in detail. The explanations are supplemented by an example and by some comments on the accuracy of calculation. The data of some automatic long term counting positions are included in the anaysis, which make it possible to distinguish between lorries with trailers and lorries without trailers.
