AGE, ALCOHOL AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
This is a report on alcohol related traffic accidents in Kansas involving fatalities and injuries. All data are presented in terms of driver's age for the years 1979 through 1986. The data presented includes driver involvement, driver fatality, passenger fatality, driver injury and passenger injury in alcohol related accidents. The accidents are considered at 3 levels: all drivers involved; drinking drivers involved; and drinking drivers involved in single vehicle accidents. The report is divided into 3 sections: alcohol related fatal accidents; alcohol related injury accidents; and data on all traffic accidents. Graphs are used to illustrate the number of drivers involved, killed, and injured in alcohol related accidents per 100,000 licensed drivers, for driver age classes of 18-20, 21-25, and all ages. The yearly trend for the number of drivers involved, killed, and injured in alcohol related accidents per one billion miles of total Kansas travel is also illustrated.
