STRUCTURAL ASSESSMENT. THE USE OF FULL AND LARGE SCALE TESTING. ASSESSMENT OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES UNDER BLAST AND SHOCK LOADS USING EXPERT SYSTEMS

The development of an expert system for the post-test assessment of reinforced concrete structures under severe loading environments is presented and discussed. Initially are presented the observed behavioral aspects of the structures, then a background discussion of the requirements from an expert system, and finally the specific details for the present system. Examples are presented and the results are compared to experimental data and information obtained by employing a dynamic analysis of the same structures. (Author/TRRL)
