REGULATIONS FOR THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS GOVERNING BRIDGE LOADS. PROCEEDINGS - SECOND CONGRESS OF THE SOCIETY OF CROATIAN CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGNERS

PRAVILNIK O TEHNICKIM NORMAMA ZA OPTERECENJE MOSTOVA

The existing regulations governing road bridge loads issued in 1949 are no longer applicable today; this suggests that new regulations should be issued. The paper presents basic principles for a new standard and gives details of the basic changes to the old regulations (ptp 5). Two categories of road are defined and for each category a standard vehicle is determined. Temperature changes and the action of frost and snow are taken into account according to yugoslav climatic conditions. The more significant changes include formwork loads, vehicle's impact on parts of bridges and the calculation of safety against bridge bearing movements. (TRRL)
