The use of prestressed reinforced concrete structures is widely spread in Yugoslavia, while very little is known about the possibilities of using prestressed metal structures. The paper presents different possibilities of prestressing metal structures, the materials used for this purpose, and the basic assumptions for the calculations of such structures. (TRRL)
