NATURAL SHEAR DEFORMATION

In this paper a study is made of the nature of shear deformation. It may be considered a continuation of the paper "Theory of Natural Deformation" by the author (ref. 1) since an application of the concepts introduced in that paper is made to obtain an understanding of the phenomenon known as shear deformation. Effective and neutral strains are presented and extended simple shear, rotating shear, pure shear and the triaxial tests are examined. (A)./TRRL/
