NEW GENERATION (RACE TRACK TYPE) TRUCK INSPECTION STATION
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (mtc) operates a number of truck inspection stations throughout Ontario. These stations provide the vehicle through which the enforcement of ontario's trucking regulations may be achieved. The new generation of truck inspection stations employ a race track geometric design and application of advanced technology electronics and microprocessors. This report documents a study of the Putnam truck inspection station in southwestern Ontario. The paper presents a complete state-of-the-art account of the research, design, construction and operation of the first of these technologically advanced truck inspection stations.
