NOTES CONCERNING ANALYSIS OF DRILLED PIERS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOIL MECHANICS AND FOUNDATION ENGINEERING, SAN FRANCISCO, 12-16 AUGUST 1985
Part I treats the evaluation of the coefficient of structural strength of the soil. Analysis of elastic settlement of drilled piers by linear elastic theory needs to introduce the appropriate value of active depth according to the structural strength of soil. This strength can be found if the coefficient of structural strength is known. Verification of this coefficient is possible by measurements of the settlement of the pier base. Part II shows a method for evaluation of the skin friction from load test results and draws conclusions regarding the analysis of the bearing capacity of drilled piers. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689. (TRRL)
