PILE GROUPS UNDER STATIC AND DYNAMIC LOADING. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOIL MECHANICS AND FOUNDATION ENGINEERING, SAN FRANCISCO, 12-16 AUGUST 1985

Behaviour of pile groups under static loading, low frequency loading and dynamic loading is discussed with special attention being paid to pile-soil-pile interaction. A direct solution of the group flexibility, stiffness and settlement is described, examples are given and the accuracy of the interaction factor approach is evaluated. The effect of pile separation on pile group stiffness is considered. Approximate formulae for the estimate of group damping are proposed for low frequency excitation and high frequency effects are outlined. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689.
