IN-SITU AND LABORATORY DYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOIL MECHANICS AND FOUNDATION ENGINEERING, SAN FRANCISCO, 12-16 AUGUST 1985
MESURES DYNAMIQUES AU LABORATOIRE ET IN-SITU
A nuclear construction site gave the opportunity of conducting a detailed systematic study of the dynamic characteristics of subgrades. In-situ cross-hole and down-hole tests were used to determine the wave propagation velocity. Laboratory tests on undisturbed samples gave deformation modulus values. Comparisons between the 2 groups of results showed large dispersion of the untreated test results are taken into account. If a detailed analysis of both experimental and laboratory results is conducted, very good agreement between both sets of values is obtained. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689. (TRRL)
