A VISCO-ELASTIC MODEL FOR LIQUEFACTION OF SANDS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOIL MECHANICS AND FOUNDATION ENGINEERING, SAN FRANCISCO, 12-16 AUGUST 1985
An equivalent visco-elastic model consisting of 4 formulae for calculating the shear modulus, the damping ratio and the volumetric and deviatoric strains of sands during cyclic loading is proposed. The model, together with the effective stress method for dynamic response analysis, can be used to solve practical problems associated with seismic stability of sand masses. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689. (Author/TRRL)
