FRESH CEMENT PASTE - INFLUENCE OF ADMIXTURES AND ADDITIVES

This report deals with some properties of fresh pastes and mortars from the very first minutes up to about one day of age - and the influence of admixtures, in particular of the fluidizing type, of diluting additives (sand, fly ash, silica fume) and of combinations. The properties recorded are viscous rigidity (penetration resistance) for a large number of material combinations, electric conductance curves, with the addition of lignosulfonates, and some examples of heats of reaction (conduction calorimetry) and degrees of reaction (X-ray diffractometry). Some figures for surface hardness at early ages are also indicated.
