S-CURVEDS CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE OF THE METROPOLITAN EXPRESSWAYS
An S-curved cable stayed bridge is under construction at a section of the Metropolitan Expressways in Tokyo. The bridge is a four-span continous curved bridge with multiple cables, having s-curved horizontal alignment, main span of 220 meters, and two towers differing in height. Such a structure is the first long-spanned, cable-stayed curved bridge in the world. This paper describes the outline of the bridge, mainly of the superstructure.
