FLOOD FREQUENCY AND RISK ANALYSIS
The International Symposium on Flood Frequency and Risk Analysis was held at Louisiana State University in May 1986. There were 24 sessions at which nearly 170 papers were presented. The topics covered at the sessions included the following: errors and outliers in flood data, application of flood frequency analysis to design of water resources projects, flood damage assessment, risk and reliability in water resources projects, paleohdrologic flood analysis, coastal and urban flooding, hydrology of floods, statistical models for frequency analysis, selection of models, streamflow simulation and forecasting, flood control and protection, rainfall frequency analysis, design flood, entropy in flood frequency analysis, parameter estimation, regional flood frequency analysis, multivariate stochastic models, and fedral practices of flood frequency and risk analysis. Eleven of the sessions were devoted to vaious probabilistic an deterministic models for flood frequecy analysis. Two sessions covered the federal practice of frequency and risk analysis in the U.S.
