TRUCKER WHO SAVED RETARDED CHILD IS NAMED GOODYEAR'S HIGHWAY HERO
James Warren of Hixson, Tennessee earned his recognition as Highway Hero for rescuing a 13-year-old boy from a burning car near an icy overpass on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City. Other acts of heroism by the same individual are noted. Courageous acts by other truck drivers in the contest are also described. The conduct of the Highway Hero program is briefly summarized.
