INFLUENCE OF LIMESTONE ON PC CLINKER CRUSHING AND THE PROPERTIES OF CEMENT MORTAR
UTJECAJ VAPNENCA NA MLJEVENJE PC KLINKERA I SVOJSTVA CEMENTNOG MORTA
The article presents the intergrinding and separate grinding of pc clinker and limestone in a laboratory ball mill in order to investigate the grinding process and properties of cements. It was found that the presence of limestone decreases the rate of clinker grinding. Cements produced by separate grinding are finer and, consequently, have a higher strength than those produced by intergrinding. The presence of 6% of limestone does not change cement strengths significantly. Strength loss is more evident at higher limestone content and in the later phase of hardening, but for cements produced by intergrinding it is proportionally smaller than the increase in limestone content.
