CAUSEWAY ROAD WORK CALLS FOR COMPACTION
The article describes the safety improvement and resurfacing of 4.5 miles of Florida 60 between Tampa and Clearwater which is built on landfill. It is a widening safety project with access roads and lighting along the side. Bulkheads will be constructed to reduce wave action on the causeway. To resurface, limerock will be used for the base; about 2 inches will be milled, and about 350 lb of asphalt per cu yd will be put in. A 3-inch structural course and a 1-inch friction course will be put in.
