THE EFFECTS OF RUNNING LIGHTS IN COMPARISON WITH PARKING AND LOW BEAM LIGHTS ON THE VISIBILITY OF A PEDESTRIAN IN STATIONARY STREET LIGHTING
JAEMFOERELSE AV VARSELLJUS OCH KONVENTIONELL FORDONSBELYSNING MED AVSEENDE PAA FOTGAENGARES SYNBARHET PAA GATOR MED STATIONAER BELYSNING
In a tachistoscopic investigation of the visibility of a pedestrian in different kinds of street lighting the effects of vehicle lighting were also studied. In the present investigation the results of two types of running lights are compared with data from parking lights and low beam head lights. The results indicate that in the situation studied - a relatively poorly lit suburban street - a pedestrian is more visible with running lights than with either parking lights or low beam head lights./TRRL/
